Seasons of the World is acrylic paint with glitter and a wooden block on a 30” x 30” canvas.
This piece was a full explosion utilizing all the leftovers saved of my custom mixed paints from past works. I wanted a full spectrum piece that didn’t look like a rainbow, expressed all seasons, and had a solid base of greens and browns central in the painting. Clockwise around are Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter and their effects on the earth.

Resonance was the first in my musical series, "Thump and Strum." I drew out the basic outline of the guitar with paint and let the rest flow from there. The glitter is the visual representation of the majesty that starts inside the instrument and streams out, coaxed by a talented hand.

And All that Jazz is acrylic and oil paint with shredded metallic paper and sand on 3 canvases totalling 36” x 32”.
Inspired by the peppy music of the 20’s, I literally tossed this piece together while bouncing around to some old music from the prohibition era.

60" x 48" multimedia painting composed of acrylic paint on canvas.
After my move to NYC I wanted to produce something grandiose. I used all the white, parchment, and ivory I had to go over the background of the painting. It was a serene, almost meditative act dribbling the blues from four foot off the ground, where the canvas was lying. This piece is symbolic of my whirlwind transition to the greatest city in the world.

Dolorous was inspired by a friend with an affinity for ravens and weeping willows. This piece was originally planned as a commission and I had a clear vision of what I wanted to create from her description. I watered down the acrylic paint and used desiccant beads in order to bring texture and gather a concentration of colors behind the willow tree. This is one of the few paintings that I used a paint brush to detail in the background edge.

One of the first pieces I created in NYC, I was fondly reminiscing of the days when I could watch the southern sun setting on a warm summer night. My time in Charlotte solidified my confidence in finally professing; I am an artist.
42" x 41" multimedia painting composed of acrylic paint and oil spray paint with sand, coffee, tea, glitter and crushed glass on canvas.
When I started this piece I only knew I wanted to use the coffee grounds and brewed tea swirled with the brown paint along the border, but that's not what I painted first. I started in on the flames and the charred wood in the center. The glitter and crushed glass mimics the rising cinders from the flames as they glint when you walk by.

I find it beneficial and humbling to often take a moment to appreciate the strength and fortitude of the women in my life. This is the forever story of them being pushed to the limits by someone turning a deaf ear and blatantly tromping on the rights and respect they deserve.

Not in Kansas Anymore is acrylic paint with powered pigment, glitter, and gloss gel medium on a 30” x 30” canvas
This piece was the backdrop for multiple other paintings and the aftermath was a whirlwind-like feeling of pastel chaos and empty space. A little powdered pigment secured down with high gloss gel medium finished off this uncharacteristically white painting.

A.E.I.O.U. is an acronym that stands for Amy's Eye: Inside the Optic Universe. I created this piece with a large amount of black paint and black glitter in the pupil for depth and texture that you can get lost in. In the iris, tea leaves and sand make up the deep sea green and the flecks of auburn and burnt sienna. This is one of the few pieces that I encourage people to touch.

People say growth happens when you turn to the light, like a sunflower photosynthesizing. I believe that others need to face their demons to fully understand themselves. Realizing that depression has a slyly torturous inner monologue and recognizing it quickly is an attribute that I have only recently started strengthening.

This is, yet again, another painting that sat for years unfinished until I pulled it out and tested every spray I had on it. What came together during those days inside during the pandemic has come to represent my well-being at that time. I am naturally a happily solitary person who was strangely ok with being in my home for extended periods of time, tho this time my straight and narrow vibrated with harsh ripples of anxiety and uncertainty.

The two sides of this painting show clarity and the welcoming comfort of an open mind on top with a muddled, savage, earthly battle underneath. Being privy to both sides of the conversation gives one the proper perspective to make fair opinions and informed decisions.

Reds are not my go-to color palette and I wanted to explore more into why. I realized that all my warmer color pieces either felt dark and brooding or seasonally autumnal. This piece is meant to feel joyous, tentative in the background, and bursting from the restraints of my subconscious assumption. .

In the bustling city we don’t take enough time to slow down and gaze up at the stars, especially because you have to hunt for them. A sparse yet vibrant palette of colors on the backdrop of solid black was a welcomed stray away from my usual style. It reminds me of some of my favorite people, shadowed by darkness but strong enough to show their brilliance through.

Fluttering Progress is acrylic and oil paint with tea, sand, espresso, and glitter on mixed fabric stretched over a hand built 22" x 72" parallelogram frame
I wanted to experiment with using multiple types of fabric in one piece to see how the paint would react and swirl around the different fibers. After sewing pieces of canvas, cotton, and two types of terrycloth together, I stretched them over the frame and triple primed it.
As I dripped the paint down and let it flow, the imagery presented itself. From the soft, smooth swirls on canvas traveling up to the rough, jagged loops of thread, I saw the transformative process of a caterpillar blossoming into a butterfly. With a couple more splashes of paint and a dusting of glitter and espresso I locked down the basics. The rest found its place when it dried.

This is one of my first multiple canvas pieces created in Charlotte as part of the Raw series. I had a mixture of earthy tones coming from all the gritty ingredients and paint to raise the two statuesque structures on each side of the waterway. After they dried it looked as if they were reaching out to the clouds in the distance forming ominously.

Based on the Reign of Kindo song with the same name this piece is a love story of vulnerability, trust, and security. This is one of the few paintings I painted the background in its entirety first and then added silhouettes after the fact. The canvas before the characters were added sat in my collection, waiting for someone to walk out onto the joyous, yet alien, floral landscape.

My sister and I would visit the Albright Knox Museum in Buffalo, and this picture was taken while we were simultaneously mesmerized by two different pieces in the same collection of work. The moment was captured and naggingly resonated with me until I recreated it on canvas. Some work will transport me back to the time I created it. Others, like this one, will transport me to the event that inspired it.

While this was the tagline at first for my initiative to raise funds through charity art auctions hosted by some of the most talented drag performers in NYC, It has become my motto for all things creative. I make it a point to incorporate charitable organizations in my monthly planning to give back as much as I can. I find that tho they may not be in the highest tax brackets, the artists I have encountered have been the most generous and supportive within their own industry.

This piece was painted with the two canvases in three different positions during different stages of it’s creation. I wanted to make a mutable piece that could elongate or shorten according to its owners desires and/or to fit the space in which its hung. Many of my past multi-canvas pieces have been confined by the image while this can comfortably stray from the ordinary while still being one cohesive artwork.

I was invited to show my work at a prestigious building just south of central park which sparked the burst of contrasting colors in this two canvas piece. I had strayed away from small shows previous to that and this was myself reintroducing the work to the space I feel most comfortable in. The large international expositions were a bit too impersonal and overstocked for my taste, but having the opportunity to show in both within months is a testament to the greatness of this city.

This is one of the only pieces I was fantastically drunk while creating. I was told some horrifying news and in order to stop myself from driving 480 miles home and doing something that would have put me in jail, I got very drunk and painted. However bad it may be to use power tools while tipsy, I attached two canvases together and had a splatter fest with the red and gold paint. The silver streaks in my mind were the shooting stars of potential masked by shadows and shame. Never before had I been pushed to a place where I could justify taking another man’s life, until that day.

It was created to be hung as a diamond, with the upper left corner being the top point. This is a sister piece to "...The Other" The red, black and silver paint in the background of this piece dripped down to make the background of the second painting. I then used the blues from the music note and it's background to drip down, back onto this piece. The paintings were inspired by my love and need for music in my life, especially while I'm creating. I have such a deep respect for all passionate, hardworking musicians and wanted to show how deeply quality music has touched my heart.

This piece started as a vibrant, end of summer splash of oranges and greens. After deciding it was far too bright and needed more depth and layers, I threw down a multitude of leaves and hit it with black and silver metallic spray paint. The mystery that came forth reminded me of the late fall feel with rolling fog and creepy Halloween nights.

With Arctic Caterpillar, I tried a new technique that was an amazing success. I had thinned the acrylic paint out with water and added dry plaster. After brushing it onto the board, I set it outside on a winter night. The paint froze, then dried, solidifying the ice crystals into the paint. This painting is the sister piece to A.E.I.O.U.

24" x 20" multimedia painting composed of acrylic paint with a dried leaf and pine cones
Autumnal was the first in a fall series of paintings that embodies warmer tones with a lot of texture. The inspiration for this piece was sparked by a letter I wrote to my parents jokingly requesting a hodgepodge of random items from my hometown, Buffalo, NY. They sent everything on my list. Included in the list was the largest leaf from a neighbors' red maple tree, a pine cone, and a new drum. Two of the three ended up as media in this painting; I crumbled the dried leaf into the paint as it was drying and stacked the de-constructed pine cone pieces like shingles on a roof in the corner of the piece.
I wish to show that nature, even at it's most raw and fragile times of change, is vibrant and majestic.

Two Trees Reach was inspired by a poem on a hand made card given to me as a gift, many years ago. It told a story of one tree at the edge of a cliff, wishing to be closer to it's mate: another growing at the bottom of the valley. It embodied yearning, patience, and the enriched fulfillment when both those pay off. This painting is the moment when the trees have finally found their way to the other and the magic that has been created from their explosive joy.

20" x 24" multimedia painting composed of acrylic paint and mirror pieces
Cruel Universe was one of the first abstract paintings I used metallic and iridescent paints on. The border of the piece is lined with shards of broken mirror so the piece not only reflects random images as you walk by or stand in front of it, but it changes with the light levels in the room. With high light, the silver and gold pop out; in low light, they fade into the background. I wanted to create a piece that looked mystical, severe, and was as mutable as the day.

The original "Old Souls" is a 16" x 20" multimedia painting composed of metallic and iridescent acrylic paint with glitter.
Old Souls is one of my oldest pieces. I started by dragging the teal paint with a wood board across for the background with turquoise glitter dusted throughout. I dripped the silver paint and waited for it to dry slightly before I stood the painting up and misted it to blend and swirl. The resulting effect left silver glistening images that stand out looking like individual faces in a sea of green.
